Detailed Itinerary
Marrakech → Aït Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate → Dades Valley
Early pick-up from your Marrakech hotel/riad. Drive across the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260 m). Stops in Berber villages for photos and tea. Visit Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah (UNESCO site, famous for movies). Continue to Ouarzazate (optional stop at Taourirt Kasbah or film studios). Drive through Skoura Oasis and Valley of Roses. Overnight in Dades Valley (hotel/guesthouse with dinner & breakfast).
Dades Valley → Todra Gorges → Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Desert)
Breakfast, then short walk in Dades Gorges. Drive to Todra Gorges, time for walking and relaxing by the canyon. Continue to Erfoud (fossil town) and Merzouga. Meet your camel caravan → ride into Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset. Dinner + overnight in a desert camp (standard or luxury tent). Evening under the stars, Berber music by campfire.
Merzouga → Ziz Valley → Azrou Cedar Forest → Ifrane → Fez
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. Return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga village. Breakfast, then drive via Ziz Valley (lush palm groves, canyon views). Lunch stop in Midelt (apple capital of Morocco). Continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop at Azrou Cedar Forest (see Barbary monkeys). Short stop in Ifrane (nicknamed 'Little Switzerland'). Evening arrival in Fez – drop off at your riad/hotel.
