Detailed Itinerary
Marrakech → Aït Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate → Dades Valley
Depart Marrakech in the morning. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260 m). Visit a Berber village for tea/photo stops. Explore Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah (UNESCO site). Continue through Ouarzazate (optional stop at Taourirt Kasbah / film studios). Drive through Skoura Oasis & Rose Valley. Overnight in Dades Valley (hotel/guesthouse with dinner & breakfast).
Dades Valley → Todra Gorges → Merzouga (Sahara Desert)
Breakfast in hotel. Morning hike/walk in Dades Valley for panoramic views. Drive to Todra Gorges, relax or walk along the canyon. Head towards Merzouga, passing palm groves and Erfoud. Arrive at Erg Chebbi dunes in the afternoon. Camel trek into the desert at sunset. Overnight in a desert camp with dinner, music, and stargazing.
Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Desert) Exploration
Sunrise over the dunes (optional). Return to camp/hotel for breakfast. Full day to explore the Sahara: 4×4 excursion around the dunes. Visit Khamlia village (Gnawa music). Discover nomadic families in the desert. Explore fossil sites & oasis. Free afternoon to relax or ride camels again. Overnight in Merzouga (desert camp or hotel).
Merzouga → Ziz Valley → Azrou → Ifrane → Fez
Early breakfast & departure from Merzouga. Scenic drive through Ziz Valley (oasis & palm groves). Lunch in Midelt (Middle Atlas town). Stop at Azrou Cedar Forest (Barbary monkeys). Short stop in Ifrane (the 'Little Switzerland' of Morocco). Evening arrival in Fez, drop off at hotel/riad.
