5-Day Morocco Desert Tour

Departure from Marrakech in the morning via the scenic High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260 m). Stop at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Ait Ben Haddou, famous for its kasbahs and film locations. Continue to Ouarzazate, the 'Hollywood of Morocco.' Visit Atlas Film Studios or Kasbah Taourirt if time permits. Drive through Skoura Oasis and the Valley of Roses. Overnight in a traditional riad or hotel in Dades Valley.

Breakfast with panoramic views of the Dades Gorge. Travel through the Todra Valley and stop at the Todra Gorges, famous for its 300 m cliffs. Head toward Erfoud and Rissani, known for fossils and traditional markets. Arrive in Merzouga Desert. Enjoy a camel trek into the dunes of Erg Chebbi at sunset. Dinner and overnight in a luxury desert camp under the stars.

Wake up early for a sunrise over the dunes. Explore the desert region: Visit a Nomadic family and learn about their traditions. Discover Khamlia village, home of Gnawa music. Possible 4x4 excursion around the dunes and a visit to fossil sites or an oasis. Relax at the camp or hotel in the afternoon. Sunset camel ride or sandboarding experience. Overnight in the desert camp/hotel.

Depart the Sahara through stunning desert landscapes. Drive via Alnif and cross volcanic mountain scenery. Arrive at the Draa Valley, Morocco's longest river valley with lush palm groves and ancient kasbahs. Overnight in Agdez, in a charming kasbah guesthouse.

Morning departure from Agdez. Drive back through Ouarzazate, with optional visit to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou if not fully explored on Day 1. Cross the High Atlas Mountains again via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass. Arrival in Marrakech in the late afternoon or evening.
