About This Tour
This 5-day Morocco desert tour from Tangier takes you through some of the country's most iconic destinations. Starting from Tangier, you will cross the Rif Mountains, stroll through the enchanting blue streets of Chefchaouen, and explore the Roman ruins of Volubilis. You'll visit the imperial city of Meknes, discover the cultural richness of Fes, and travel through the cedar forests of Azrou and the 'Moroccan Switzerland' of Ifrane. The adventure continues to the golden dunes of Merzouga, where you'll ride camels, admire breathtaking sunsets, and spend a magical night in a desert camp under the stars. Along the way, you'll visit Todra Gorges, Dades Valley, Ouarzazate, and the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah before crossing the High Atlas Mountains and arriving in Marrakech.

Detailed Itinerary
Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen
Depart Tangier and travel through the Rif Mountains via Tetouan. Arrive in Chefchaouen, the famous blue-washed town, where you can stroll through its medina, discover artisan shops, and relax in the main square of Uta el-Hammam. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After breakfast, visit the UNESCO-listed Roman ruins of Volubilis with its mosaics and ancient columns. Continue to Meknes to see Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani, the royal stables, and Moulay Ismail's mausoleum. Arrive in Fes in the evening. Overnight in a riad/hotel.
Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, depart Fes toward Ifrane, known for its alpine-style houses and cool climate. Stop at Azrou cedar forest to see Barbary monkeys. Continue via Midelt and the Ziz Valley before reaching Merzouga. Ride camels across the Sahara dunes to your desert camp, where you'll enjoy Berber music around the campfire and sleep under the stars. Dinner and overnight in a desert camp.
Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
Wake up early to witness the desert sunrise before riding back by camel. Travel through Erfoud and Tinghir, with a stop at Todra Gorge for a walk along the towering canyon walls. Continue to Dades Valley, with its rock formations known as 'Monkey Fingers' and winding Tisdrine curves. Overnight in a hotel/riad in Dades.
Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Drive through the Rose Valley (Kalaat M'Gouna) and Skoura's palm groves. Stop in Ouarzazate to visit the film studios and Taourirt Kasbah. Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed ksar famous for its appearance in many films and series. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n'Tichka pass and arrive in Marrakech. End of the tour.
